SMARTmedSolutions, a medical supply distributor, partnered with Fluxergy to provide on-site rapid COVID-19 testing. As the pandemic eased, event organizers were eager to bring people back together in a safe manner. For this particular case study, 250 participants of a multi-day conference were tested upon arrival to the hosting hotel. Since the event was located in a rural area, it was not possible to transport the samples to a medical laboratory on such a tight schedule.

Prior to arrival, all participants took a rapid self-test. Upon arrival to the hotel, sample collection began for PCR testing on the Fluxergy platform.  By pooling the samples and using 12 Fluxergy test devices simultaneously, the test results were delivered to participants in approximately one hour. Within four hours, a negative result was delivered to 180 conference participants.

According to the event organizers, the assurance that an outbreak could be detected and possibly prevented through PCR testing contributed significantly to a relaxed conference atmosphere and thus to the success of the event. The efficient and secure project workflow was made possible only through the use of Fluxergy POC testing devices.
