Fluxergy, an Irvine-based medical diagnostic company committed to re-envisioning point-of-care testing, announced several key updates leading up to the Annual Scientific Meeting & Clinical Lab Expo (ADLM). Fluxergy will be offering demonstrations of their latest device, introducing newly appointed clinical advisors, and presenting the latest performance data during the poster session. This year, Fluxergy has significantly invested in building a future where fast, accurate, and affordable point-of-care testing is available to everyone before leaving their doctor's visits.

Fluxergy is thrilled to debut their newest Analyzer: the FluxergySearch. This device is the latest in Fluxergy’s series of multimodal point-of-care analyzers and incorporates the company’s technological advancements. The FluxergySearch has been optimized for clinical settings with a focus on streamlining workflows, shortening the time required for testing, and improving patient satisfaction through fast and accurate results.

In keeping with their guiding principle of building technical expertise, Fluxergy announced five new strategic and clinical advisors. Coming from diverse career backgrounds in different sectors of healthcare, these advisors will help inform Fluxergy’s commercial and scientific goals with their deep domain experience:

Dr. Omai Garner PhD - Dr. Omai Garner is a Clinical Professor and Director of Clinical Microbiology in the UCLA Health System. Dr. Garner currently manages the reference and POCT laboratory infrastructure for UCLAHealth. Dr. Garner’s research interests focus on the intersection of Point-of-Care, infectious disease, and advances biotechnology.

Dr. Nathan Ledeboer, PhD - Nate is a Professor and Medical Director for Clinical Microbiology, Molecular Diagnostics, and Pathology Medicine at The Medical College of Wisconsin. His extensive work in laboratory medicine has encompassed focus areas including development of rapid molecular techniques, assay development and implementation, digital imaging, and antimicrobial resistance.

Dr. Hollie Huff, PhD – Dr. Huff is a senior executive with 20+ years of global experience in corporate and business development for diagnostic market leaders like QuidelOrtho, Siemens Healthineers, Abbott, and Alere.

Dennis Dalangin – Dennis is a senior executive with 20+ years of global experience in international marketing, product development, and commercial growth at diagnostic market leaders like QuidelOrtho, Siemens Healthineers, and Alere. He most recently managed the POC Business Unit at QuidelOrtho.

Alan Ayers, MA, MBA - Alan has over 20 years of experience in strategic planning, business development, clinical operations, sales/marketing and customer service for urgent care, occupational medicine, and primary care facilities. He is the Senior Editor for The Journal of Urgent Care Medicine.

When asked about the collaboration, Dr. Garner shared, “There is a need for new technology that will improve our current laboratory infrastructure. There is room in the diagnostics market for a new device that can provide POCT PCR testing at potentially antigen price points in addition to covering other areas of commonly needed tests.”

Similarly, Dennis Dalangin shared, “Having significant experience reviewing new technology in the POCT diagnostics space, I am excited about Fluxergy’s potential because they have approached their platform from a consumable cost and scale perspective without sacrificing clinical performance. Importantly, they are attempting to utilize sensor and assay technologies that are already industry standard and widely accepted for each of the modalities, which minimizes technical risk and accelerates time to market.”

Along with the FluxergySearch, Fluxergy will be presenting an update on their Basic Metabolic Panel with their poster, “Optimization of Reference Electrode Design and Evaluation of Electrochemical Sensors for a Five-Minute Point-of-Care Basic Metabolic Panel Testing on the Multimodal Fluxergy Platform.” This poster describes the development of miniaturized electrochemical sensors within the FluxergySearch, which are critical in delivering fast and reliable results on point-of-care analyzers. See the full presentation of poster A-369 on Tuesday the 29th from 1:30-2:30pm.
